Very Important Information for Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble,
Marching Band, Camerata and Symphony Orchestra

CONCERT BAND and ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL, Wednesday, March 15, 2017
The annual Lawrence Central Concert Band and Orchestra Festival will take place on Wednesday, March 15. Performance Times are as follows:
            LC Concert Band       Warm up: 8:10 am    Perform: 8:30 am     Clinic: 9:00 to 10:00
            LC Wind Ensemble    Warm up: 9:05 am    Perform: 9:20 am      Clinic: 9:50 to 10:50
            LC Symphonic Band  Warm up: 3:55 pm    Perform: 4:10 pm      Clinic: 4:40 to 5:40
            LC Camerata             Warm up: 5:05 pm   Perform: 5:20 pm    Clinic: 5:50 to 6:50
            LC Symphony Orch.  Warm up: 6:55 pm    Perform: 7:10 pm      Clinic: 7:40 to 8:40

Students will miss class for the time indicated above, and this will be considered a field trip absence. Orchestra students are welcome to stay after school to listen to other groups in the auditorium. Dinner will be provided for the usual $3 per person. If they elect to go home or off campus, they must be back in time to dress prior to warm-up. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the concert and the clinic sessions.

Pick up time for Symphonic band is 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm for Symphony Orchestra.

Leave LC at 9:15 am             Presentation at 10:00 am     Back to LC by 11:30 am

Students will miss class during the time indicated above and it will be considered a field trip. MPLT Students that went on the Rose Parade trip are welcome, but not required to participate in this presentation. Parents are also welcome to attend as chaperones will be needed. Please let Mr. James know if you are interested.

SYMPHONIC and CONCERT BAND ISSMA DISTRICT, April 7 and/or 8, 2017
Symphonic Band and Concert Band will be participating in the ISSMA Large Organization District Contest on Friday and/or Saturday, April 7 and 8, 2017. We won’t know our exact times for a few weeks, and we will publish those times as soon as we get them. Parents are also welcome to attend as chaperones will be needed. Please let Mr. James know if you are interested.

WIND ENSEMBLE FIELD TRIP, April 11, 2017
The Lawrence Central Wind Ensemble has been invited to be a special guest of the Indiana University Purdue University, Fort Wayne Music Department for the day on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. The day is set up to accommodate school bus transportation. Here is a rough in of the potential itinerary:

9:00 am                      Depart Lawrence Central to Ft. Wayne
11:30 am                    Arrive at IPFW
12:00 pm-1:30pm     Rehearsal with IPFW Faculty (sitting in)(faculty could come at 10:30 and stay until 11:30, if you wish)
1:30 pm-2:00 pm      Shared Rehearsal with SWE (Thunderer)
2:00 pm-2:45pm       Lunch with SWE (provided)
3:30 pm                      Shared Concert with IPFW Symphonic Wind Ensemble.
4:30 pm-5:30 pm      Some kind of activity like: Campus Tour, Music Department Tour, Icebreaker Activity with IPFW Music Kids, etc.
545 pm                       Organize and Load buses
6:00 pm                      Depart Ft. Wayne for Lawrence Central
7:30 pm                      Arrive at Lawrence Central

This will be considered a “field trip” and students will miss the entire day of school. It is strongly recommended that students touch base with their teachers to make up any work they will be missing. Students should let their and after school coaches and directors.  Parents are also welcome to attend as chaperones will be needed. Please let Mr. James know if you are interested.

WIND ENSEMBLE & SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
ISSMA State Qualifications & State Finals

The Lawrence Central Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra will be attending the ISSMA State Qualifications on Saturday, April 29, at Warren Central High School, during the day or early evening. If either or both groups qualify, State Finals is on Saturday, May 6. Wind Ensemble would participate at LC, and the Symphony Orchestra would participate at Pike High School.
